The annual Sri Huligemma Devi Jatra Mahotsava will be held with devotion and grandeur from May 10 to May 14 at the Sri Huligemma Devi temple in Huligi village of Koppal taluk. Religious rituals will begin earlier on May 2 with a bracelet offering ceremony at 8 pm.
The main festival will start on May 10 at 7 pm, followed by special rituals such as Akkipadi and Maharathotsava on May 11. On May 12, early morning Ganga Devi puja, offerings, and Aarohana programmes will be conducted, while Payas and Agni Kunda pujas are scheduled for May 13. Various other rituals including Konda Puja and prasad offerings will continue till May 14.
Organisers expect more than five lakh devotees from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Special buses have been arranged from nearby towns and railway stations for devotees. Free food arrangements will be provided daily at the temple. The temple development authority has also announced ongoing construction of a new stone structure. Animal sacrifice is strictly banned, and officials warned of legal action against violations during the festival period.
