Byndoor
Three persons were killed and several others injured when a tourist bus rammed into a parked tanker on the National Highway near Trasi beach in Byndoor taluk on Wednesday. The bus was travelling from Murudeshwar towards Udupi carrying around 47 passengers, mostly BCom students of Shankarghatta Rambhapuri College in Shivamogga district, on a coastal tour. All injured were immediately shifted to nearby private hospitals in Kundapur for treatment, with several reported to be in serious condition. Police visited the accident spot and have begun investigation into the cause of the collision, while rescue operations ensured the injured were rushed for further care at nearby hospitals in Kundapur area district hospital.
