Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed deep sorrow over the shocking murder of Executive Officer Krishna Bhushan Kumar.

The officer was shot dead by armed men inside his office at Sultanganj in Bhagalpur. To support the grieving family, the Chief Minister announced a financial aid package of 25 lakh rupees and a state funeral.

The tragic incident occurred when three gunmen stormed the officer’s chamber, killing him instantly and critically wounding Municipal Chairman Raj Kumar. Describing the officer’s death as a “supreme sacrifice” for public service, the Chief Minister promised that justice would be swift. The violence has sparked a heated political debate, with government leaders and the opposition trading barbs over the state of law and order in Bihar.

The case took a dramatic turn during a police encounter. Authorities reported that the prime suspect, Ramdhani Yadav, was killed in a shootout after he allegedly fired at officers during a weapon recovery operation. While the suspect died from his injuries, three police officers were also hurt in the exchange.

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi praised the police response, calling it a sign of a “new Bihar” where criminals face immediate consequences. However, the opposition remains vocal, questioning the safety of public officials in their own offices. As tension remains high in Bhagalpur, the government has assured the public that they are taking every step to restore peace and protect those serving the state.
