1 Cr grant announced for Bary community hall

Madikeri

In a significant move to support community development, Karnataka Assembly Speaker U. T. Khader announced a grant of 1 crore for the construction of a Bary community hall in Kodagu district. The announcement was made during a programme held in Madikeri, attended by members of the Bary Sahithya and cultural organisations.

Speaking on the occasion, Khader emphasised the importance of strengthening community infrastructure, noting that such facilities play a crucial role in preserving cultural heritage and fostering unity. He stated that the government remains committed to the welfare and upliftment of minority communities through targeted initiatives and financial support.

Members of the Bary community welcomed the announcement and expressed gratitude for the grant. They pointed out that the absence of a dedicated community hall had long been a challenge, especially when organising social, cultural, and educational events. The proposed hall is expected to serve as a central space for gatherings, discussions, and various community activities.

Khader also urged the concerned authorities to ensure timely execution of the project, stressing the need for transparency and proper utilisation of funds. He highlighted that public projects must meet quality standards and reflect the aspirations of the people they are meant to serve.

During the event, community leaders submitted requests for additional support in areas such as education and welfare schemes. Khader assured that these concerns would be taken up with the government for further consideration and necessary action in the coming months.
