Kuvempu University has awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree to Inspector General of Police Harsha P.S. for his research in wildlife studies. Harsha completed his doctoral research under the Department of Wildlife and Management with guidance from Prof. Dr. Vijaya Kumar. His study focused on tiger population stability and human–tiger conflict in Nagarahole, Bandipur, and BRT Tiger Reserves. The research included field surveys, camera trapping, and analysis of conflict-prone zones across forest areas. University officials said the Syndicate has formally approved the award. The Ph.D. degree will be officially conferred during Kuvempu University’s convocation scheduled for May 6, 2026.
