A rare triplet birth at BRIMS Hospital Bidar sees mother and three newborns under ICU care, with doctors closely monitoring their recovery.

In a rare medical case, a woman delivered triplets at the Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences (BRIMS Hospital Bidar), bringing joy and surprise to hospital staff.

The mother, Basamma, wife of Chandrakant and a resident of Vaddanakera village in Humnabad taluk, gave birth to two boys and one girl, the same day she was admitted to the hospital. Officials said this was her second delivery.

Doctors at BRIMS confirmed that all three newborns are currently under intensive care observation. The medical team is closely monitoring both the mother and the infants to ensure stable recovery and health progress.

Hospital sources described the case as rare and medically significant, as triplet births occur infrequently and require specialised neonatal care. The successful delivery was welcomed by the hospital staff, who appreciated the coordinated efforts of the medical team involved.

Doctors noted that multiple births often involve higher medical risks, making continuous monitoring essential during the early stages after delivery. In this case, timely admission and expert care contributed to a positive outcome.

The incident has drawn attention in the district, highlighting the role of government hospitals in handling complex and high-risk pregnancies. BRIMS officials said the case reflects the improving capacity of district-level medical institutions to manage specialised obstetric care.

Further updates on the health condition of the mother and newborns are expected after continued observation in the neonatal intensive care unit.
