Efforts are being intensified under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGA) to prevent seasonal migration of rural people during the summer, said Taluk Panchayat Assistant Director Shivkumar Ghate.He was speaking during the Rozgar Diwas programme held at the site of a nala desilting work in Borgi village under Jojana Gram Panchayat limits in Aurad taluk.Ghate stated that under the scheme, both men and women labourers are being provided equal wages of ₹370 per day. He added that up to 100 days of employment is being guaranteed to each eligible family in a financial year, ensuring livelihood opportunities at the village level.
He also advised workers to avail the benefits of government insurance schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Bima Suraksha Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. Officials have been instructed to ensure that attendance is recorded twice daily through the NMMS system.Jojana Gram Panchayat Development Officer Narasingh Mane said priority is being given to providing employment to all eligible families under the scheme.IEC Coordinator of the Taluk Panchayat Ambadas Patil, DEO Nagnath Kunte, Technical Assistant Amar, Chandrakant Patil, Umakant Vilaspure, and other Gram Panchayat staff were present on the occasion.
