MOSCOW
As energy markets struggle with the ongoing conflict in West Asia, Russia is stepping up to help India secure its fuel future. Denis Manturov, confirmed that Russian energy giants are ready to significantly boost their exports of oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to India.
This offer is part of a deepening bond between the two nations following their major summit in late 2025. Beyond just fuel, Russia has already become a massive supporter of Indian farmers. Manturov noted that fertilizer shipments jumped by 40 percent last year, and a new joint project is in the works to produce urea locally. This partnership ensures that India’s food supply remains stable even as global prices fluctuate.
The cooperation doesn’t stop at the surface. Work is moving forward on new units at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, showing a long-term commitment to clean energy. During his visit, Manturov sat down with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to discuss trade, technology, and innovation. They also reviewed the progress of agreements made during last December’s summit.
Officials from both sides say that the Russia-India relationship is stronger than ever. By working together on everything from nuclear power to farming, both countries are aiming to keep their economies steady during these uncertain global times. It is a partnership built on mutual need and long-term trust.
