Police Commissioner N Chandrasekhar Rao has warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in illegally procuring petrol and diesel in Hubballi amid rumours of fuel shortage. Addressing growing concerns over fuel availability, the Commissioner clarified that there is no actual shortage of petrol and diesel in the city. He emphasised that rumours circulating about scarcity are misleading and are creating unnecessary panic among the public. Rao stated that some individuals have been attempting to take advantage of the situation by hoarding fuel or procuring it through illegal means. Such activities, he said, not only violate the law but also disrupt the normal supply chain and inconvenience genuine consumers.
