Hubballi Youth Apologises After Prank Video Targeting Poor Goes Viral

Hubballi
A young man in Hubballi has issued a public apology after a prank video targeting innocent and economically weaker individuals went viral on social media. The video, initially created for Instagram Reels, drew widespread criticism after being broadcast on a local media platform. According to reports, the man, who operated an Instagram account under the name Pranker Totu, allegedly filmed himself carrying out pranks on unsuspecting individuals near the railway station in Hubballi. The act involved approaching people under the pretext of asking for directions or initiating casual interaction.

During these interactions, the youth reportedly engaged in deceptive behaviour by shaking hands with individuals while pretending to cough and placing gravel in their hands without their knowledge. The targeted individuals, unaware of the prank, were seen wiping off the gravel and moving on without raising objections, highlighting their innocence.

The video gained attention after it was aired, leading to public outrage over the insensitive nature of the content. Many viewers criticised the act as disrespectful and exploitative, particularly because it targeted vulnerable sections of society.

Following the backlash, the young man issued an apology, expressing regret for his actions. He assured that he would not create such content in the future and acknowledged that his actions had hurt the sentiments of innocent people.

The incident has sparked a broader conversation about the ethics of creating social media content, especially when it involves unsuspecting individuals. Critics have pointed out that chasing online popularity should not come at the cost of dignity and respect for others.

Authorities and community members have also urged content creators to act responsibly and avoid making videos that could harm or humiliate people. The episode serves as a reminder of the need for sensitivity and accountability in the growing digital content space.
