New Delhi
The Indian government has launched a major operation to safeguard its citizens amid rising tensions in West Asia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the Rajya Sabha that over 3.75 lakh Indians, including 700 medical students, have been safely brought home so far.
To keep domestic supplies steady, refineries are running at full capacity, and oil is being sourced from 41 countries instead of 27. Emergency reserves now hold over 53 lakh tonnes of oil, ensuring petrol, diesel, and cooking gas are available for everyone. In one day alone, 7,500 new piped gas connections were activated.
Authorities have also cracked down on fuel hoarding, conducting more than 3,400 raids and making hundreds of arrests. Meanwhile, Indian sailors are being monitored, cargo shipments continue on schedule, and embassy helplines operate 24/7, keeping citizens safe while supporting the nation’s economy.
