Karnataka Health Minister Dr. Dinesh Gundu Rao has said there is no discussion at present about changing the Chief Minister, and the government is working together in unity. Speaking to reporters in Kalaburagi, he made it clear that the leadership issue is not on the agenda now.

The minister said the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, cabinet ministers, and all MLAs of the ruling government are united and focused on governance. He added that the recent remarks made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son, Yathindra, are not important and should not be given unnecessary attention.

On the question of leadership change, Gundu Rao said any such decision would only be taken by the party high command and based on consensus. He explained that both the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister have already clarified this stand. Since there is no discussion within the party or the high command at present, he said there is no need for speculation or debate.

Reacting to criticism over the Bengaluru Metro fare hike, the minister said the state government has no direct role in fixing metro fares. He explained that the fare revision was recommended by a committee in which the Government of India is also involved. He accused BJP leaders of wrongly blaming the state government for the hike. However, he said that if the Chief Minister raises objections, the matter can be reviewed.

Commenting on the proposed India–US trade agreement, Gundu Rao said the full details must be studied before forming an opinion. He said the Centre’s statement so far does not provide complete clarity.

The minister also condemned reports of violence in Bangladesh, including the death of former Union Minister Ramesh Sen. He said violence in the name of religion is unacceptable anywhere and urged strict action against those responsible.
