Fans hoping for an update on Kaithi 2, the sequel to Karthi’s blockbuster Kaithi, will have to wait longer. Despite strong expectations and earlier hints, Karthi has confirmed that he currently has no information about when the sequel will begin. The actor shared this during media interactions held for the promotion of his upcoming film Vaa Vaathiyar.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Kaithi ended with a clear teaser for a second part, raising excitement among fans. However, the sequel has remained stalled. Karthi said he does not know when the next steps will happen and added that he is still waiting for updates from the director. His earlier assurance that the sequel would happen soon had kept hopes high, but no progress has been seen so far.
After the success of Kaithi, Lokesh moved on to major projects with top stars such as Vijay, Kamal Haasan, and Rajinikanth while also expanding his cinematic universe. Industry buzz suggested that he would start Kaithi 2 after completing these films. There are also rumours that Lokesh may collaborate with Bollywood actor Aamir Khan or Telugu star Allu Arjun in the near future, adding more uncertainty to the sequel’s timeline. No official clarification has been given yet.
Meanwhile, Karthi is getting ready for the release of Vaa Vaathiyar, titled Annagaru Vostaru in Telugu, on December 12. The comedy drama stars Krithi Shetty, Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Anand Raj, Shilpa Manjunath, and others. Karthi will also be seen in Sardar 2, which has completed shooting, followed by Marshal and HIT 4 with director Sailesh Kolanu.
