After weeks of speculation, it has now been officially confirmed that Nazriya Nazim and Naslen have joined the cast of the tentatively titled Suriya 47, directed by Aavesham fame Jithu Madhavan. The film was formally launched with a traditional pooja ceremony on Sunday, December 7, marking the beginning of its shooting journey.
Pictures from the ceremony were shared by Jithu Madhavan’s wife, Shifina. The images featured key members of the team, including Suriya, Nazriya Fahadh, Naslen, director Jithu Madhavan, and music composer Sushin Shyam. A close-up of the clapboard also confirmed that Unni Palode will be making his debut as a full-fledged cinematographer with this project.
Suriya 47 brings together a successful combination once again, with Jithu Madhavan reuniting with Sushin Shyam after delivering hit albums in Romancham and the blockbuster Aavesham. Unni Palode, who has earlier assisted noted cinematographers like Shyju Khalid, Sameer Thahir, and Gireesh Gangadharan, now steps into the spotlight as the director of photography for the first time. Reports suggest that Suriya will be seen playing a police officer in the film.
On the work front, Suriya is awaiting the release of Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji and co-starring Trisha. He is also currently shooting for Suriya 46 with Venky Atluri and Mamitha Baiju. Meanwhile, Nazriya was last seen in the mystery drama Sookshmadarshini, while Naslen’s previous outing was the superhero hit Lokah, opposite Kalyani Priyadarshan.
