Ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s debut production, Gustaakh Ishq, has a new release date. The much-awaited romantic drama, starring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, will now hit theatres on November 28, 2025, a week later than its original release on November 21.
Manish Malhotra announced the postponement on Instagram, sharing, Mark your calendars, ishq has a new date for y’all. The film is produced by his brother Dinesh Malhotraunder the banner of Stage5 Productions.
Gustaakh Ishq marks Malhotra’s first venture as a film producer, adding a new chapter to his long and successful career in Indian fashion. Directed by Vibhu Puri, the film’s teaser — released in August — offered a glimpse into an intense period romance set in the bylanes of Purani Dilli and the kothis of Punjab.
The story follows the tender and complex relationship between the characters played by Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, with veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah adding depth to the narrative. Sharib Hashmi also features in an important role.
The film’s music is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, with lyrics by Gulzar, sound design by Resul Pookutty, and cinematograph
y by Manush Nandan. According to the makers, Gustaakh Ishq captures a world where architecture holds memory and music carries longing, blending nostalgia with modern cinematic storytelling.
