Good news for Yellow Line Metro passengers for Kannada Rajyotsava. The fifth train will run on the RV Road-Bommasandra Yellow Line Metro route from November 1. Currently, the Yellow Line is operating with four trains, with a gap of 19 minutes between each train. If the fifth train is added, the gap will be further reduced, and trains will run every 15 minutes from the fifth train. Currently, the safety testing of the fifth train has been completed, and the final stage of technical testing is underway.
The train will be available for public service on November 1. On August 10, Prime Minister Modi had launched the Yellow Line. Initially, it started with three trains. And the train ran every 25 minutes. On September 10, the fourth train was added. After that, the train ran every 19 minutes. Now, the fifth train has reached the Yellow Line with coaches and will be operational from November. When the fifth train runs, the train will run every 15 minutes.
The BMRCL has submitted a report to the state government stating that the plan to extend Namma Metro to Hosur in Tamil Nadu, which had been the subject of widespread opposition from Kannadigas, is not technically feasible. According to sources, Karnataka’s Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) has told the government in its report that Namma Metro and Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. (CMRL) systems cannot be integrated as they use different power-driven technologies. Tamil Nadu had requested a feasibility study to be conducted for extending the Metro Yellow Line connecting RV Road and Bommasandra by 23 km from Bommasandra to Hosur in Tamil Nadu.
