The Bellandur police have arrested four Nepali nationals accused of targeting food delivery personnel and stealing their mobile phones and vehicles. The accused have been identified as Paras Singh (25), Mukesh Sai (19), Bipin Karki (20) and Sameer Lohar, all residents of Kodathi Gate in Bengaluru.

According to police sources, the gang members worked as security guards and housekeepers in private companies during the day but turned to robbery at night in search of quick money. Their modus operandi involved intercepting food delivery riders, assaulting them, and fleeing with their mobile phones and two-wheelers.

The case came to light after an incident on September 13 last year, when a food delivery executive named Suresh was attacked around 11:30 p.m. while en route to deliver an order in the Kasavanahalli area. Six men on three bikes stopped him and forcibly snatched his phone. Following his complaint, police launched an investigation that eventually led to the arrest of the four accused.

During the operation, nine stolen mobile phones and three two-wheelers were recovered from their possession. Police revealed that the accused had been using some of the stolen phones themselves.

Investigations further indicated that the gang’s criminal activities were not limited to Bellandur alone. Similar thefts were reported in Hebbagodi, Parappana Agrahara, Bandepalya, and HSR Layout police limits. The accused are believed to have committed several such offenses across these areas.

All four men have been remanded in judicial custody. Police officials stated that efforts are ongoing to trace two other accomplices who remain absconding. Authorities have also urged food delivery workers to be cautious, especially during late-night shifts.
