Yadav accused the NDA of denying 65% reservation under the 9th Schedule, costing millions of disadvantaged groups jobs

On the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav strongly attacked Bihar’s NDA government over the caste census, accusing it of betraying Dalits, backward and tribal communities.
In a social media post, Yadav recalled October 2, 2023, when he released Bihar’s caste survey report as Deputy Chief Minister. Calling it a historic step, he said the report marked a turning point by declaring the need for a nationwide caste census. “Our struggle forced this stubborn government to bow down,” he claimed, adding that BJP and RSS leaders who once opposed the survey were compelled to announce a nationwide caste census. However, he alleged that their “intentions and implementation remain doubtful.”
Yadav further accused the NDA government of “stealing reservations.” He alleged that the BJP had deprived Dalits, backward, extremely backward, and tribal communities of their rights by not including the 65 per cent reservation, recommended in the caste survey, under the 9th Schedule of the Constitution. According to him, this move has cost millions of jobs to disadvantaged groups.
“The anti-Dalit, backward, reservation-thief BJP has robbed these communities of their rights,” Yadav charged, calling the current regime a “double-engine government that has snatched opportunities from the poor and marginalized.”
Reaffirming his commitment, Yadav said his fight for economic, social, and educational justice will continue. He urged people to support him in expanding the scope of reservations beyond the 50 per cent ceiling so that benefits can match population size.
“I will continue this struggle until true justice is achieved,” he said.
