Actress Shilpa Shetty’s lawyer has strongly denied media reports claiming she received ₹15 crore from her husband Raj Kundra nearly a decade ago. The transfer was allegedly linked to a ₹60 crore fraud case under investigation by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
Her lawyer, Prashant Patil, released an official statement calling the reports “fake” and “mischievous.” He said the information was planted to damage Shilpa’s reputation and confirmed that she never received any such money. Legal action is now being considered against the media outlets responsible.
“We will take legal steps, including criminal and civil proceedings, against all those spreading false news. The matter is subjudice, so we cannot share more details at this time,” the lawyer said.
The legal team plans to approach the Bombay High Court to seek relief and protect Shilpa’s fundamental rights. They also stated that the couple has always cooperated with authorities and will continue to do so.
The controversy began after businessman Deepak Kothari accused Shilpa and Raj of cheating him out of ₹60.48 crore between 2015 and 2023 through their now-defunct company.
The case is ongoing, and further updates are expected from the court.
