“Compared to South Karnataka, North Karnataka has fewer doctors, and there is a significant disparity in the bed-to-patient ratio,” MP Basavaraj Bommai said, emphasizing the need for focused attention on healthcare in the region. He made these remarks while inaugurating the Swastha Nari Sashakta Parivar campaign, organized jointly by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the District Health and Family Welfare Department, and the Taluk Health Officer’s Office at Gutala town’s Community Health Center.
Highlighting the importance of community health, Bommai said, “Health has multiple dimensions — individual, family, community, state, and national. If an individual’s health is good, it reflects positively on the family, community, state, and country.”
He urged people to utilize the benefits of the Swastha Nari Sashakta Parivar program. Under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the central government provides treatment coverage up to Rs 25 lakh, with over two crore people in Karnataka currently benefiting. He also highlighted the availability of affordable medicines through Jan Aushadhi centers, which have been established to ensure access to low-cost medicines for all.

Jayanand, Taluk Health Officer Dr. Prabhakar Kundura, Administrative Medical Officer Dr. Mahesh Havanur, leaders CB Kuruvattigowdra, Shivappa Thota, Town Panchayat President Malvva Neelappa Goravara, and other staff were present at the event.
