BNCC Commissioner inspects Veerannapalya roads

Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) Commissioner, Pommala Sunil Kumar, carried out an early morning inspection of Veerannapalya on Tuesday, directing civic officials to intensify upkeep of drains, roads, and waste management in the locality. The inspection comes in response to recurring civic complaints from residents about poor drainage, garbage accumulation, and damaged roads in the area.

During the visit, the Commissioner instructed engineers to clear accumulated silt from stormwater drains and restore smooth water flow to prevent flooding during rains. He also directed ward officials to warn building owners and vacant site holders against blocking drains, emphasizing that strict action would be taken against repeat offenders.

Highlighting sanitation concerns, Sri Pommala Sunil Kumar ordered daily garbage collection and night-duty monitoring to curb illegal waste dumping. He further instructed that fines be imposed on those found dumping garbage in public spaces. “Cleanliness and accountability must go hand in hand. Civic workers and residents both share responsibility for keeping the city hygienic,” he said.

Addressing road infrastructure, the Commissioner directed immediate repairs to the service road opposite Nagawara Lake, which had developed dangerous potholes. He also ordered the deployment of mechanical sweepers along the busy Outer Ring Road to maintain cleaner carriageways and reduce dust pollution. Residents expressed optimism following the inspection, noting that timely repairs and stricter enforcement could significantly improve civic conditions in Veerannapalya. The BNCC has assured that follow-up inspections will continue to ensure that the directives are implemented without delay.
