IIM Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Calcutta in global top 100

Three Indian Institutes of Management—Bangalore, Ahmedabad, and Calcutta—have made it to the world’s top 100 business schools, according to the QS Global MBA, Online MBA, and Business Master’s Rankings 2026. QS, the London-based ranking organisation, said that 14 Indian institutions feature in the list this year, with three entering the global top 100.

IIM Bangalore improved by one spot to rank 52nd, IIM Ahmedabad rose two places to 58th, and IIM Calcutta moved up one position to 64th. QS noted that their strong performance is backed by high scores in employability, return on investment, and thought leadership.

The rankings cover over 390 leading MBA programs across 80 countries and include specialised business master’s courses in fields like Management, Finance, Marketing, Analytics, and Supply Chain Management. Woxsen School of Business made its debut this year and was ranked highest for diversity in Asia, placing joint 26th globally.

US schools continue to dominate, with Wharton leading the world in both overall ranking and employability. Stanford GSB, last year’s leader, dropped to fourth, while Harvard Business School secured second place, and MIT Sloan climbed to third.

QS President Nunzio Quacquarelli highlighted India’s progress, noting that all four Indian entries in the QS Global MBA rankings improved this year, a feat unmatched by any other country. India also has six Master’s in Management programs among the world’s top 50. While challenges remain in areas like return on investment and student outcomes, India’s growing presence reflects its rising global reputation in business education.
