Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, inaugurated its annual two-day multilingual book exhibition, Jnana Darshan 2025–26, on Monday, celebrating the transformative power of books, reading, and cultural exchange. The exhibition, organized by the Department of Library and Information Centre, brought together students, faculty, and leading publishers to foster intellectual curiosity and literary exploration.
The event was Inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Dr. Augustine George, Vice-Chancellor, who in his address underscored the role of books and storytelling in shaping thought, culture, and society. He urged students to cultivate consistent reading habits and embrace multilingual literature to broaden perspectives.
The programme opened with a welcome note by Dr. Uma Maheswary, Coordinator of the Library Resource Usage Optimization Committee, who highlighted the exhibition’s vision of encouraging a vibrant literary culture on campus. The gathering was graced by Rev. Fr. Joshy Mathew, Director, School of Humanities and Social Sciences; Mr. Harish D. N., Chief Librarian; and Mr. Surendra, Area Sales Manager, Wiley Publications, along with several publisher representatives.
A key highlight was the release of three Hindi books—Kala Koustubh, Kala Vijnana, and Kala Pravidhi. Delivering a discourse, Dr. Sreedhara P. D., Coordinator of Hindi Language, explained their thematic richness and encouraged students to explore literary works beyond academic syllabi.
The exhibition also included ceremonial lamp lighting and concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Padmashree, Vice President of the Student Council, who acknowledged the organizers and publishers. With participation from 21 reputed publishers, including Southern Books, Himalaya Publishers, Taxman Publishers, and Standard Book Company, the event showcased a diverse collection of academic and literary works. Jnana Darshan 2025–26 reinforced Kristu Jayanti University’s commitment to academic excellence, cultural enrichment, and literary appreciation.
