Kantara 1: Rishab Shetty unites Indian artisans

Rishab Shetty’s much-awaited film Kantara: Chapter 1 is shaping up as one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema, aiming to showcase the country’s culture on a grand scale. The film focuses on a massive temple set, designed to represent different decades, and has brought together artisans and crew from across India to achieve authenticity.

Craftsmen and experts from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, West Bengal, and several other states have contributed their skills to recreate the period setting. The hilltop temple, central to the story, was crafted with expertise from across regions to capture the essence of Indian traditions.

The creative team features noted names like music director B. Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematographer Arvind Kashyap, and production designer Vinesh Banglan, who have joined forces to bring Shetty’s vision to life. The makers have also designed an extraordinary war sequence involving more than 500 trained fighters and 3,000 extras. Shot across 25 acres of rugged terrain over nearly 50 days, it stands among the largest battle scenes ever filmed in India.

With meticulous planning, international specialists, and deep cultural research, Kantara: Chapter 1 promises to push boundaries beyond the first part. Scheduled for a global release on October 2, the film will be available in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English, ensuring audiences worldwide witness this grand cultural spectacle.
