Deputy Commissioner K Nitish inspected the AHP G+3 housing complex under construction near Eganur village, being developed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
The project comprises 2,419 houses, with each unit receiving a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh from the Centre and Rs 2 lakh from the State. The Deputy Commissioner directed officials and contractors to ensure basic amenities like drinking water pipelines, drainage, and quality construction. The work should be carried out scientifically and inspected regularly. Quality materials as per guidelines must be used, he stressed.
In the first phase, construction of 1,191 houses is underway, of which 300 are expected to be handed over to beneficiaries by Diwali, the contractor informed.
City Corporation Commissioner Jubin Mohapatra, Assistant Commissioner Gajanan Bale, Urban Development Cell Project Director Earanna Biradar, Deputy Commissioner of City Corporation Santosh Rani, and other officials accompanied the inspection.
