Tejashwi Yadav accuses NDA government of failures

Yadav accused BJP of thuggery during bandh, alleging violence, harassment, and failing to shut down wards

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday strongly criticized the NDA-led Bihar government, accusing it of failing to bring development and allowing crime and corruption to rise across the state.

Speaking to reporters, Yadav said, “Crime and corruption have increased. Look at the condition of education, irrigation, and healthcare. Bihar ranks last in per capita income, per capita investment, and farmers’ income. There is no industry and no business.” His remarks come as the state gears up for Assembly elections later this year.

The former Deputy Chief Minister also attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its Bihar Bandh protests held on Thursday. In a post on X, Yadav alleged that the BJP “unleashed thuggery” during the bandh but failed to shut down even a ward. He accused BJP supporters of beating women, misbehaving with teachers and students, blocking ambulances, and even harassing martyrs’ families.

Yadav further accused the media of ignoring BJP’s misbehavior. “The sycophant media kept silent. If the opposition had done anything similar, their studios would have erupted with debates,” he said.

The NDA had called the bandh over derogatory remarks reportedly made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother at a Mahagathbandhan event. Yadav dismissed the protest as ineffective and said the BJP relied on police pressure for its rallies and shutdown calls.

Positioning himself as a strong opposition voice, Yadav said Bihar deserves industries, better healthcare, and fair opportunities for farmers instead of what he described as misrule under the NDA.
