“For a nation to achieve true development, its human resources must be strong, and the creation of such capable human resources is possible only through teachers,” said Planning and Statistics and District Incharge Minister D Sudhakar.
He made these remarks while inaugurating the Teachers’ Day celebrations and the district-level Best Teacher Award ceremony, organised by the district administration and Zilla Panchayat, School Education Department, on Friday at the KEB Community Hall.
“Even today, teachers command immense respect in society. When society bows saying ‘Guruve Namah,’ it expects the best from its educators. Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping students’ lives, and only their guidance can brighten a child’s future,” he said.
Addressing concerns about declining moral values in society, Minister Sudhakar emphasized that teachers must prioritize instilling ethics and character in students, helping them become responsible citizens. “Teachers carry a heavy responsibility and must work with commitment to ensure excellent results in the SSLC examinations,” he added.
He urged educators to conduct special classes for students who are falling behind, provide remedial teaching, and enhance learning skills, aiming to bring the district within the top 10 in the state for this year’s SSLC results.
MLC KS Naveen, Deputy Director of School Education Department MR Manjunath, and representatives of Teachers’ Associations were present. During the event, teachers who received the district-level Best Teacher Award and Special Teacher Award for 2025–26 were felicitated.
Minister Sudhakar also announced a grant of Rs. 2 crore for the construction of Guru Bhavan at the district headquarters, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting teachers and education.
