Shivamogga
The specialty departments of Meggan Hospital, functioning under the Shivamogga Institute of Medical Sciences, along with the Cardiology and Neurology Departments, are operating in the super specialty building on the hospital premises, delivering quality healthcare services to the public. In an effort to further expand services, additional super specialty facilities are now being made available to patients.
Starting September 4, kidney disease services will be launched. Plastic surgery, cancer surgery, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, and urology surgery will be offered every Monday and Thursday. The Neurology Department will function on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while outpatient neurosurgery services will be available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
In cases where surgical intervention becomes necessary after consultation, patients will be admitted, and BPL cardholders will be entitled to free treatment under the ABARK scheme. Wards have also been opened in the super specialty department to accommodate patients and ensure smooth delivery of these new services.
Highlighting the significance of this development, the Superintendent of Meggan Hospital stated that the inclusion of Shivamogga Institute of Medical Sciences in the list of institutions providing super specialty care—after Bangalore, Mysuru, and Hubballi—marks a milestone achievement and is a matter of pride for the institution.
