RCB Extends ₹25 Lakh Aid to Families of B’luru Stampede Victims

Bengaluru

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has announced a financial grant of ₹25 lakh each for the families of those who lost their lives in the stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, during the team’s IPL victory celebrations.

The tragic incident, which occurred amid a gathering of nearly three lakh fans, claimed eleven lives and left more than 50 injured. In an emotional statement shared on Instagram, RCB expressed its grief, calling the victims an irreplaceable part of the team’s extended family and the city’s spirit.

The franchise clarified that the contribution is not merely monetary aid but a gesture of empathy and solidarity, made under its newly launched initiative, RCB CARES.” The statement read: “No assistance can ever truly replace the void left behind. But with the deepest respect, we begin by supporting the families with ₹25 lakh each—as a pledge of compassion, unity, and enduring care.”

RCB further said that “RCB CARES” would evolve into a long-term program designed to honour the victims’ memory through meaningful initiatives. More details about the project will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The June 4 stampede shocked the cricketing fraternity and RCB supporters nationwide, casting a shadow over the team’s historic first IPL title win.
