Thalapathy Vijay’s final film as an actor, Jana Nayagan, is set to release on January 9, 2026. Directed by H. Vinoth, the political-action thriller has created huge excitement among fans as it marks Vijay’s exit from cinema to focus on politics.
A unique feature of the film is the appearance of several well-known Tamil directors in cameo roles as journalists. Lokesh Kanagaraj, Atlee, and Nelson Dilipkumar, all of whom have previously worked with Vijay, will appear on screen. Lokesh directed Vijay in Master (2021) and Leo (2023), Atlee in Theri (2016) and Bigil (2019), and Nelson in Beast (2022).
Music composer Anirudh Ravichander, a frequent collaborator of Vijay, will also make a special appearance in a song. Vijay himself has sung a track titled ‘One Last Song’ as a tribute to his long film career.
The film stars Pooja Hegde and Bollywood’s Bobby Deol alongside Vijay. Other cast members include Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how these cameos reflect Vijay’s transition from movies to politics.
