Star Tortoise Found During Lokayukta Raid

Two star turtles along with cash worth lakhs of rupees were found at the residence of officials during the Lokayukta raid. The Lokayukta had raided the house of Chetana Patil, Joint Director of Agriculture Department.

During checking the documents and cash, cash worth lakhs of rupees and two turtles were found. It is said that the turtle had been kept in the house for several days. There have also been allegations that he violated the law as a government official, even though there is a ban on rearing animals under the Forest Act.

Lokayukta officials also raided the house of Krishna Shirur, Assistant Director Of Agriculture Department in Bilagi town, in Vidyagiri. A total of two teams attacked simultaneously. During this time, important documents were found and the officials are examining it. The raid was carried out by teams led by DySPs Shankar Ragi and Pushpalatha.

They also raided the houses and offices of the officials, interrogated the staff and checked the documents. Offices in Bagalkot and Bilagi were also raided. Krishna Shirur’s house at 18th Cross in Vidyagiri and Chetana Patil’s house at Akkimaradi Layout in Vidyagiri were raided.
