Jayanagar police inspector Manjunath, who loved his profession more than his family, died of liver cancer on Sunday. He was diagnosed with liver cancer when it was in its last stage and took 15 days leave for treatment. He was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru. Manjunath died on Sunday afternoon after the treatment failed. It is learned that Inspector Manjunath’s dead body has been sent to his native Hassan and the family members have decided to perform the last rites in Hassan. The deceased Inspector Manjunath got married a few years ago and Manjunath has a wife and a young son. Manjunath, who had been occupying high positions step by step by rendering efficient and honest service, was transferred to Jayanagar police station in Bangalore. However, he left all of them due to an incurable fatal disease. Inspector Manjunath was recently working in Jayanagar Police Station, Bangalore. However, Manjunath, who did not compromise on efficiency, did not pay much attention to health. Thus, liver cancer is caused by diet and daily physical activities.
Hailing from Hassan, Manjunath UR joined the profession as a 2007 batch police inspector. He was also a recipient of the Chief Minister’s Medal in 2021. He started his first job at the Mysore Police Academy in the state. After succeeding in Police Academy, worked in Belgaum, Chamarajanagar, Belur and various parts of Karnataka. In his 15 years of service in the Karnataka Police Department, he solved several cases and worked with integrity. He was sometimes known as the people’s man. Besides, he was recognized and honored by several institutions of the state.
