Ella Gibson supports Archery Premier League launch

New Delhi

World Games and European champion Ella Gibson is excited about the new Archery Premier League (APL), which starts on October 2 in New Delhi. She believes this league will make archery more professional and popular.

The APL is India’s first franchise-based archery competition. It mixes Indian and international players in recurve and compound archery. There are six teams, a player draft, and special rules to make the games faster and more fun to watch.

Gibson said, “This league can help archery grow by bringing more money and attention to the sport. I hope it becomes popular in India and around the world.” She likes the new format, where players shoot under floodlights and compete with different types of bows.

Ella started archery when she was 14. She says the sport taught her patience and belief in herself. She also credits her coach Jon Nott for helping her grow.

Gibson hopes the APL will give archers better pay and fewer tournaments, so they can focus on their best performances. She wants the league to inspire many young people to take up archery.
