Must read

BENGALURU

There has been a slight reduction in the syllabus of seven subjects of pre-university colleges from the new academic year and the teaching will be conducted as per the revised syllabus. Only a small portion of the old textbook has been cut and nothing new has been added. So the existing textbooks can be used. The department of pre-university education has said that students should not be confused about this.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an institution set up by the Central Government with the objective of advising the Central Government and provincial Governments on issues related to school education, has made a cut in the syllabus for the academic year 2023-24. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology in the science composition adopted by this Council and accountancy, Business Studies and Economics subjects of commerce have been reduced. This will also be followed by the State and there has been some degree of text reduction in all these seven subjects. Therefore, for the year 2023-24, a revised syllabus of seven subjects will be considered, the Department of Pre-University Education said.
The NCERT supports and encourages research in the entire field of education. Strives for training in higher education and implementing changes and development in the education system in schools. Works to provide advice etc. to state governments and other educational institutions on school education and to promote publication materials and other materials.
NCERT Director Dinesh Prasad Saklani had informed about the reduction in the text. The lessons of Mughals, RSS, Gandhiji and Hindu-Muslim unity have been dropped from the syllabus to reduce the burden on children. All this has been done on the recommendation of experts.
The recent changes made in textbooks were not made to please anyone or at someone’s request. Instead, these were cut entirely based on recommendations made by academics.
