A woman sustained fatal injuries in a brutal knife attack near Sunkadakatte in Bengaluru and succumbed to her wounds despite treatment at a private hospital. The deceased has been identified as Rekha, 35, a native of Shira in Tumakuru district.
According to police reports, the accused, Lokesh, also known as Lohitashwa, attacked Rekha with a knife, striking her multiple times. Rekha was reportedly stabbed 11 times, sustaining severe injuries that required immediate medical attention. She was rushed to a private hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, she did not survive.
Police sources stated that the motive behind the attack is under investigation. The accused, Lokesh, is currently absconding. Officers from the Kamakshipalya police station have launched a search operation to apprehend him and ensure he faces legal action.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Lokesh’s whereabouts to come forward to aid the investigation. Meanwhile, the police are examining CCTV footage and witness accounts from the area to piece together the circumstances that led to this violent incident. The tragic death has raised concerns over public safety in the vicinity, prompting the local police to increase patrolling and vigilance, particularly in areas frequented by women.
