Okkali community urged to participate in caste survey

Spiritual Leaders Encourage Accurate Data Submission and Community Participation

In preparation for the upcoming state-wide social and educational survey, the Karnataka government, through the State Commission for Backward Classes, has scheduled the exercise from September 22 to October 7. To raise awareness among community members, an outreach meeting for the Okkali community was held on Saturday at the Sri Adichunchanagiri Maha Samsthana branch math in Vijayanagar, Bengaluru.

The meeting was attended by prominent spiritual leaders, Including Sri Nirmalanandanath Swamiji, pontiff of Adichunchanagiri Math; Sri Nanjavadhuta Swamiji, president of the pontificate of Spatika Puri Maha Samsthana Math; and Dr. Nishchalanandanath Swamiji, president of the pontificate of Kengeri Vishwa Okkaligara Maha Samsthana Math. Community leaders and representatives also participated in discussions focused on the importance of accurate data collection during the survey.

Officials and spiritual leaders emphasized that the caste and educational survey is a critical tool to assess the socio-economic status of communities and ensure their rightful representation in government planning and welfare programs. Attendees were urged to provide precise details regarding family composition, occupation, educational background, and social status to ensure the Okkali community’s interests are fully reflected in the survey results.

The gathering concluded with a call for unity and active participation, highlighting the survey’s role in strengthening community development, securing equitable resources, and empowering future generations. Leaders stressed that cooperation from every household is essential to ensure transparency, accuracy, and effective implementation of the government’s initiatives across the state.
