Inox India has received cumulative orders worth more than Rs 50 crore for semiconductor-related projects from Tata Electronics, Micron and Inox Air Products, as India expands its domestic chip manufacturing ecosystem.
The orders include supplies for Tata Electronics’ semiconductor facility in Dholera, Tata’s semiconductor project in Assam, Micron’s facility in the United States and Inox Air Products’ upcoming dry-pure gases plant at Dholera, Inox India chief executive Deepak Acharya told The Economic Times.
The company is a leading manufacturer of cryogenic equipment and is expanding its presence in the growing semiconductor supply chain. The orders cover equipment and projects linked to semiconductor manufacturing and supporting infrastructure, increasing the company’s exposure to the sector.
Inox India expects its semiconductor-related business to contribute between 15 per cent and 20 per cent of its revenue over the next three to four years. The company’s outlook comes as India works to expand domestic semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and develop a broader ecosystem around chip production.
The semiconductor industry requires specialised equipment and supporting facilities, including systems for handling gases and other critical materials used during manufacturing. Projects such as those being developed by Tata Electronics and Micron are expected to create demand for companies supplying equipment and infrastructure to the sector.
The orders received by Inox India indicate growing opportunities for domestic industrial suppliers as semiconductor investments increase in India. The company’s involvement in projects across Dholera, Assam and the US also reflects the wider reach of its semiconductor-related business.
Inox India expects the segment to become a more significant part of its overall revenue in the coming years as investments in semiconductor manufacturing and related infrastructure continue.
