Pressure on India Vs Singapore, Jhingan Ready

Bengaluru
India’s football team is preparing for two important matches against Singapore in the AFC Asian Qualifiers. The first match will be played on October 9 at Singapore’s National Stadium in Kallang. The second will be a home game at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa.

Coach Khalid Jamil confirmed that defender Sandesh Jhingan will be available for both games. Jhingan is recovering from cheekbone surgery after an injury he got during the CAFA Nations Cup in Tajikistan. Jamil said he trusts the team’s ability to handle the pressure in these crucial matches.

Many Singapore players are part of the Singapore Premier League, which adds to the challenge. Despite this, Jamil believes his players are ready and confident after a strong performance in the Asian Cup qualifiers.

The coach also welcomed back veteran striker Sunil Chhetri, saying it was the right time for him to return. Goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is also praised for his experience and recent performances.

Meanwhile, the AIFF is working hard to start the Indian Super League season on time amid some organizational issues.
