BENGALURU

Energy and national pride filled the air as students and staff at PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya MEG & Centre gathered to mark India’s 80th Independence Day. The bustling school assembly ground came alive with colorful performances, traditional music, and joyful celebrations.

The morning events kicked off with the arrival of Chief Guest Shri Shaik Tajuddin, Deputy Commissioner of KVS RO Bangalore. He raised the national flag while everyone sang the anthem together. A sharp, disciplined parade by the NCC, Scouts, Guides, and a girl pipe band brought extra excitement, showcasing teamwork and strong school spirit.

Following the ceremony, the stage filled with student talent. Little ones from the Balvatika section delighted the audience with a cute action song. Older children from primary and secondary grades presented lively group songs, creative dances, and a special patriotic fancy dress show. Different school houses put on unique acts, including a Shivaji House group dance, a Tagore House thematic performance, a Raman House folk dance, and an Ashoka House mime show. These acts highlighted India’s deep cultural roots and the beauty of unity in diversity.

Student leaders gave inspiring talks about the value of freedom and what it means to be a responsible young citizen. Principal Shri Lokesh Bihari Sharma also addressed the crowd, reminding everyone about the massive sacrifices made by historical freedom fighters and urging students to help build a stronger nation.

The memorable event wrapped up with a formal vote of thanks, a powerful rendition of Vande Mataram, and sweet treats handed out to everyone. Organizers noted that the day served as a wonderful reminder that true freedom is built on responsibility, community service, and standing together as one united country.
