Demonstrating its continued commitment to promoting health, fitness, perseverance and the spirit of the Prime Minister’s Fit India Movement, Karnataka Bank is sponsoring Manjunath Hebbar, a 65-year-old passionate marathon runner, for the prestigious Ladakh Full Marathon 2026, scheduled to be held on 13 September 2026 at Leh, Ladakh.
Hebbar has successfully completed four full marathons and continues to inspire people of all age groups through his dedication, discipline and unwavering passion for long-distance running. His participation in one of the world’s highest-altitude marathons is a remarkable testament to the fact that age is no barrier to pursuing one’s passion and maintaining an active lifestyle. As part of its sponsorship, Karnataka Bank presented him with a marathon running kit and round-trip air tickets for his journey to and from Leh.
Speaking on the occasion, Kishore, Assistant General Manager, Karnataka Bank, Regional Office, Mysuru, said Hebbar’s determination and commitment to marathon running at the age of 65 are truly inspiring. They are delighted to support his participation in the Ladakh Full Marathon and wish him every success in this challenging event.
The Ladakh Full Marathon, covering the full marathon distance of 42.195 km, is renowned for its breathtaking Himalayan landscape and the unique challenge of running at high altitude. The event attracts enthusiastic runners from across India and around the world.
Manjunath Hebbar expressed his gratitude to Karnataka Bank for extending financial support towards his participation. He stated that marathon running involves considerable expenditure, particularly when participating in events outside the region, and appreciated the Bank’s encouragement and sponsorship.
