The Second Quarter State-Level Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) Meetings of 2026 for Madhya Pradesh and Assam focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination, intelligence sharing and financial investigations to intensify the nationwide crackdown against drug trafficking.
According to an official statement issued on Friday, the meetings were held in Bhopal and Guwahati, bringing together central and state enforcement agencies to review ongoing operations and formulate strategies for dismantling narcotics syndicates under the vision of a Drug-Free India.
The Madhya Pradesh meeting, jointly chaired by the Deputy Director General (Western Region) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Additional Director General of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), witnessed participation from agencies including the NIA, Customs, Income Tax Department, Central Bureau of Narcotics, Railway Protection Force, State Excise, Food and Drug Administration and the State Prosecution Department.
Officials reviewed significant drug seizure cases, discussed emerging trafficking trends and finalised plans to implement the Vision Document on Narcotics Control. The meeting also emphasised monitoring 50 identified NDPS cases for early disposal, expediting PIT-NDPS proposals, strengthening financial investigations and conducting intelligence-led joint operations.
In Guwahati, the Assam JCC meeting was chaired by NCB Deputy Director General (NER) R. Sudhakar, with participation from agencies including the ANTF, Enforcement Directorate, DRI, Assam Rifles, BSF, ITBP, Customs and district police officials.
The deliberations centred on intelligence-led enforcement, enhanced financial investigations, tackling emerging trafficking patterns and dismantling the financial networks supporting drug cartels through a whole-of-government approach, reaffirming the commitment of all participating agencies to curb narcotics trafficking effectively.
