Chennamma Deve Gowda, wife of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, was laid to rest with full state honours near Haradanahalli on 20th July. She passed away on July 18 at a Bengaluru hospital following a cardiac arrest. Her mortal remains were kept at H.D. Revanna’s Holenarasipura residence, allowing the public to pay their final respects. Traditional Vokkaliga community rites were performed at the foothills of Bettada Ranganathaswamy Temple. Top leaders, including Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Pralhad Joshi, and Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, attended the funeral to offer condolences to the grieving family.
