Agriculture Minister BC Patel, who is also the MLA of Hirekerur assembly constituency, visited Yammiganur village which had experienced crop loss due to heavy rain and thunderstorms during occurred last Friday.
The Minister who visited the village along with Tahsildar instructed to check the crop loss and submit a report with relevant data.
Also, when such natural disasters occur and farmers complain to the officers, the authorities should check the spot immediately without delay or negligence. They need to get information on what happened before. “I will not agree with the attitude of any officials who do not respond to the peasantry of the public”, Patil said.
As soon as such incidents are noticed, the local authorities must first visit the villages along with the local elected representatives and take up remedial measure. He pointed out that they must try to the solve the problem locally. Patil said the crop loss would be brought to the notice of the government.
The minister instructed the Tahsildar Uma to prepare an estimation about the real crop loss occurred, remedial measures to be taken up.
