Adani plans South Asia’s largest missile complex

The Adani Group is investing 2,500 crore rupees to build South Asia’s largest private-sector missile manufacturing complex in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, creating 5,000 jobs.

AHMEDABAD

The Adani Group announced a major plan to invest 2,500 crore rupees over the next three years. This big investment will build an integrated missile manufacturing center in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, creating South Asia’s largest private-sector missile complex.

Speaking at the foundation stone ceremony, Adani Enterprises Director Jeet Adani called the project a historic milestone for India’s private defense industry. He explained that the facility will handle the entire production process under one roof, moving from raw materials to mission-ready weapons. The Shivpuri complex plans to manufacture medium and long-range missiles while also producing local explosives to lower India’s heavy reliance on foreign military imports.

The defense project will create about 5,000 direct and indirect jobs while supporting over 50 small businesses through a new supply chain. Jeet Adani highlighted that this facility is part of a larger 1.10 lakh crore rupee investment plan for the state. This broader package covers clean hydro energy, mining, and smart meters, which aims to create 1.2 lakh local jobs by 2030.

The corporate group has already poured over 4,000 crore rupees into regional plants and currently supplies 1,200 megawatts of electricity to the state. Additionally, they are developing several wind energy projects and recently started work on a major cement unit in Guna. Jeet Adani stated that these expanding industrial projects prove the company’s long-term commitment to boosting local economies.
