If the backbone of the country is the farmer, then Vishwakarma is the one who supplies the equipment used by the farmer to plow the fields. Vishwakarma is the one who developed Indian culture. The credit for building various historical temples in India goes to Vishwakarma. Another name for hard work and perseverance is Vishwakarma. Without Vishwakarma, this world would not have existed. All knowledge comes from Vishwakarma. The Vedas also glorify Vishwakarma. King Vishnuvardhana was a famous king of the Hoysala Empire. His queen Shantale was very interested in sculpture and culture, he said.
Akbarasabha Babarji, Chairman of the Gadag Betageri Urban Development Authority said that it is a matter of great joy that the state government is celebrating Vishwakarma Jayanti. Organisation is very important for any achievement. The Vishwa Karma Samaj should come forward together. He called for making good use of government facilities.
Senior writer DV Badigera, while delivering a lecture, said that earlier the worship of Vishwakarma was limited to individuals and homes. But now, as per the instructions of the state government, the Jayanti celebration is being celebrated with full meaning and grandeur.
The builder of various temples including the Channakeshava Temple in Belur and the Hoysaleshwara Temple in Halebid is the immortal sculptor Jakanachari of the Vishwakarma Samaj. Today’s children should be informed of Vishwakarma’s guidance and be inspired to develop a love of literature. Everyone should develop the Kayaka philosophy, Dr KR Duragesh said.
