The Pulse Polio Immunization programme was launched at an anganwadi centre in Doddapete, Shikaripur, as part of the government’s effort to prevent infectious diseases among children. Speaking at the event, Bal Vikas Samiti member Praveenkumar said the Pulse Polio campaign is a key national programme and urged parents and citizens to ensure all children below five years receive polio drops. Anganwadi teacher Vijaya said the drive is conducted twice a year to prevent the spread of polio infection. More than one hundred children were administered polio drops during the programme with participation from health and childcare officials.
