West Indies captain Hayley Matthews has reclaimed the No. 1 position in the ICC Women’s T20I all-rounder rankings following an impressive all-round performance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The latest rankings update also brought encouraging news for India, with Deepti Sharma and Shree Charani making substantial progress after their standout displays in the tournament.
Matthews returned to the summit of the all-rounder rankings after playing a crucial role in West Indies’ seven-wicket victory over New Zealand. The Caribbean skipper contributed 48 valuable runs and also claimed the wicket of former New Zealand captain Sophie Devine. Her performance enabled her to move ahead of New Zealand captain Melie Kerr, who slipped to second place in the rankings.
India’s Deepti Sharma emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the latest rankings update. The experienced all-rounder climbed two places to third in the T20I all-rounders’ standings after delivering a match-winning spell against Pakistan in India’s tournament opener at Edgbaston. Deepti’s outstanding figures of 5 wickets for 10 runs played a decisive role in securing victory for India and reinforced her reputation as one of the world’s leading all-round cricketers.
India also celebrated significant progress in the bowling rankings. Left-arm spinner Shree Charani surged five places to reach a career-best second position. Her rapid rise has placed her just five rating points behind England spinner Linsey Smith, who continues to occupy the No. 1 spot among T20I bowlers.
Deepti Sharma enjoyed further success in the bowling rankings, moving up five places to fifth. Her rise strengthens India’s representation among the top-ranked bowlers in women’s T20 international cricket and highlights the growing depth of the country’s bowling resources.
The competition for the top bowling ranking remains highly competitive, with only 20 rating points separating the top eight bowlers. This narrow margin indicates that strong performances during the ongoing World Cup could lead to further changes in the rankings over the coming weeks.
