Proper basic infrastructure in schools is essential for students to achieve academic progress, said T.K. Jagadeesh while inaugurating a newly constructed girls’ toilet facility at A.C. Chandregowda Memorial High School in Kebidare village.

He emphasised that quality education cannot be achieved without adequate facilities such as sanitation, classrooms and other essential infrastructure. Jagadeesh appreciated the efforts of donors and the school management in improving facilities for students, especially girls, by ensuring access to safe and hygienic sanitation.

The newly inaugurated toilet block was fully funded by K. Kishore Kumar Hegde, proprietor of Lifeline Feeds company. School authorities lauded his contribution, noting that such support plays a crucial role in strengthening rural educational infrastructure. They described him as an education enthusiast committed to social development.

Speaking at the event, Jagadeesh highlighted that investments in school infrastructure directly influence student attendance, performance and overall learning outcomes. He said that providing a safe and supportive environment encourages students, particularly girls, to continue their education without interruption.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including A.C. Niranjan, members of the school management committee, alumni association representatives, teaching staff and students.

The school administration expressed gratitude for the support received and said that additional infrastructure development would further enhance the learning environment. They also stressed the importance of continued collaboration between donors, alumni and local institutions to meet the needs of rural schools.

Local education stakeholders noted that such initiatives help bridge infrastructure gaps in government-aided and rural schools, ensuring better learning conditions and promoting gender equality in education.

The inauguration of the facility is expected to improve hygiene standards and provide a more comfortable environment for girl students, aligning with broader efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure in rural Karnataka.
