Hitaashee and Ridhima shine at Swiss Open

New Delhi

Indian golfers Hitaashee Bakshi and Ridhima Dilawari were the only ones from the country to make the cut at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open. The event is being held at the Par-71 Golfpark Holzhäusern, where wet conditions made scoring tough.

Both Hitaashee and Ridhima finished with identical scores of 71-69, placing them at 2-under 140 and tied for 23rd after two rounds.

Other Indian players – Vani Kapoor, Sneha Singh, Tvesa Malik (last year’s runner-up), and Pranavi Urs – failed to make the cut, which was set at one-over par. A total of 67 players advanced to the final rounds.

England’s Alice Hewson, the defending champion, leads the tournament at 9-under after a strong second round of 67. Despite a slow start with two bogeys, she bounced back with six birdies, crediting her mental coach for helping her stay focused.

Ireland’s Lauren Walsh and Australia’s Sarah Kemp are two shots behind in joint second place at 7-under, followed closely by three players at 6-under, including Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz.

With a packed leaderboard and competitive field, the final rounds promise intense action at the Swiss Ladies Open.
