Nara Lokesh Urges PM’s Support for Andhra Pradesh’s Growth

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday, seeking greater Central support for investment promotion and development initiatives in the state. Lokesh highlighted the successful rollout of welfare and development programs over the past 15 months, emphasizing Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to contributing to the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 under PM Modi’s leadership.

He discussed key state-specific issues and updated the Prime Minister on contemporary developments in Andhra Pradesh. According to Lokesh’s office, PM Modi responded positively, assuring full support for the state’s growth and development. Lokesh thanked the Prime Minister for approving the Advanced System in Package (ASIP) semiconductor unit, calling it a milestone for industrial growth, and requested continued assistance in expanding IT and electronics industries to create employment and strengthen the local economy.

As Education Minister, Lokesh shared details of ongoing reforms to improve academic standards and learning outcomes, seeking PM Modi’s guidance to enhance higher education results. He also expressed gratitude for the recently announced next-generation GST reforms, which he said offered relief to millions of middle-class and poor families and would benefit MSMEs and small businesses in Andhra Pradesh.

To mark the occasion, Lokesh presented PM Modi with a coffee table book on the Yogandhra celebrations held in June, symbolizing the state’s rich culture and achievements while reinforcing its development priorities.
